At an awards ceremony held Tuesday, September 29, 2015, Merced County Office of Education and Educational Employees Credit Union recognized outstanding teachers and employees of Merced County. Atwater Elementary School District had one employee who was nominated as Teacher of the Year, and one employee who was selected as Merced County Employee of the Year.

Atwater Elementary School District's Food Service Supervisor Lisa Ludwig and Sodexo Consultant Sandra Sanchez attended the annual Farm 2U Agriculture Day hosted at the Merced County Fairgrounds. They presented the Rethink your Drink display and Nutritional label reading with students. Students also pledged that they would make better decisions in drink choices and to add more drinking water to their day.
